Mallard View- Stunning!

Reviewed March 26,

We were amazed as soon as we arrived. The cottage is beautiful inside and out. We felt at home straight away. All the rooms were cosy and well heated. The cottage was set out brilliantly and had great views what ever the weather. It is a good base to see Norfolk by foot, car or boat. Carol the owner is a lovely lady, so very helpful! We hired a day boat from Carol which was the cheapest in the area. An absolutely smashing week was had by all, would go back tomorrow!

A superb cottage

A well appointed cottage with more than average amenities for an enjoyable stay..very comfortable and warm .....excellent views all around cottage and fishing available from garden on three sides.
When we were there the silver fish were present all day and lots of Jack Pike about...in the last hours of daylight the big perch came on and made great sport until dark.
The owners are very friendly and helpful sorting any queries we had within minutes...we will definitely be booking again back end of year.

 Pure Quality.. Excellent property

My partner and i travel to Norfolk every year and meet with a friend for our annual Pike fishing trip, this year Mallard View appeared in the search and we first dismissed it because of the slightly higher cost but we kept coming back to it and WOW i am glad we booked it. It knocks socks everywhere else we have stayed in Horning, Wroxton and Potter Heigham. Upon arrival we were meet by Carol (the owner) and nothing was to much trouble.

The property was amazing, alot more spacious than the pictures suggest, there was no Mis-matched furniture as previous reveiws, and each of the two bedrooms have TVs, large en-suites with massive shower cubicles and brilliant power showers.

The upstairs lounge area was large enough for three adults to chill and the opening bi-fold doors to the balcony must be amazing in the summer months.

Downstairs the lounge / dinning area is spacious and the kitchen of superior quality with granite worktops, washing machine and dishwasher.

We truly can't fault this property, since it was only finished being built this year - there are a few small areas to tidy / finish off and the radiators needed bleeding when we first arrived but again Carol and her husband were straight on to it without delay.

This has really raised the bar in holiday lettings.

 Mallard View was lovely.

Very well set out and comfortable. Loved the two bathrooms and lounge areas. Carol, the owner very friendly. Great location for fishing on three sides and at the end of the garden.

 Perfect in every way

A wonderful holiday property.-Everything you need for your stay.

It ticks all the boxes - thoughtful layout, incorporating an upstairs lounge with balcony and views leading from double bedroom/ en-suite. Downstairs has a large fitted kitchen and dining area leading to a sofa and t.v corner., plus a second bedroom /en suite double shower.

The beds are extremely comfortable, a luxury topping on a well supported coil base gave my husband and I an excellent night's sleep. I am particularly fussy about beds after spending much of my working life as a bed specialist in a well trusted department store.

Outside the property is a mooring for a boat, small garden to fish from and a safe easy parking area with plenty of room for all.

Everything is spotlessly clean and the owners Carol and Nigel are around to help in any way they can.

Horning is good as a base with much to do in the area; boating, fishing, coastal walks and country houses. Blickling is a must. The nearby radar museum is a hidden treasure and is not just for the boys.

 Fantastic - Will be back

A fantastic property had everything we could have needed. We travelled with our 10 week old baby. The ower was lovely and the property exceeded our expectations. We have not been fishing since we were children but fished every single day off of the properties garden (and always caught something.) because you can fish off of the garden no need to pack everything up every night just leave your gear on the decking. Kitchen had everything that we needed. Bedrooms both had en-suite bathrooms which was great as granparents can to stay for a couple of nights. great views over the river to watch the boats go by from the decking / balcony. Can't wait to return. If you can stay here do. :-)

 Lovely property

We have a great holiday at Mallard View. The property was new, well equipped, comfortable and the setting was lovely.

The owner is very helpful and available on site to answer questions and arrange boat hire.

We would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay on the broads.

This was our first visit to Horning and finding Mallard View to stay in was a great find. Carol the owner is lovely and very friendly. The property feels bigger than it first appears and has everything you would need to self cater. It sits on Grebe Island and has great views of the riverside and all the boats passing by. Having breakfast on the balcony in the sun was a delight. We will arrange to hire a boat next time we visit and use the mooring available. Our only observations were that the mattress on the double bed is very soft, and the furniture a little unmatched. We will certainly be back to Mallard View in the future and have already recommended it to friends and family.
